Skiing with Nicole Emma and Jason

Erica is doing well at school as usual and she is practicing for her play at school and ballet again at the same time. Nicole is doing fine at pre-school and has fun on all the little projects like building a box for her Valentines.

Erica ist wie immer ein wirklich guter Schueler, sie probt im moment fuer das Schul Teater (The Beauty and the Beast) und auch fuer das Ballet wo sie einen Part hat. Nicole hat viel Spass in der Vor-schule und hat oft projekte an denen sie arbeitet.

Play date with Myles, after asking me every day I could not say no a one point. Myles came every date asking me if he can have a play-date with Nicole. So one day I talked to his Mom and I picked him and Nicole up at school and the played together at our house and he stayed also for dinner and his bath with Nicole :-), they had a great time.

Nicole und Myles hatten ein Playdate, nachdem Myles jeden !!! Tag, wenn ich Nicole abholte in der Schule, fragte "koennen wir heute zusammen spielen" hatte er mich irgendwann weichgekocht und ich habe mit seiner Mama vereinbart das ich ihn mit nachhause nehme und abends zu seiner Schlafenszeit wieder abliefern werde.

Skiing with Jason and Mark.I was skiing again (the third weekend in the row, a new record for me), in the morning I was skiing with Jason who was also working as a Ski host that day. In the afternoon I was skiing with Mark who we just meet at lunch. The snow was ok and we had some very good runs that day.

Ski fahren mit Jason, das war das dritte Wochenende in Reihenfolge das ich Ski fahren war. Jason konnte nur bis Mittags, da er noch nach Ravelstoke wollte um mit seinen Sohn Ski zu fahren. Aber ich bin dann mit Mark am Nachmittag gefahren, den wir zufaellig in unserer lunch Pause getroffen haben. Und wir hatten den ganzen tag gute Abfahrten.

Valentines day and wedding anniversary, I met Lettie at Moca Cabana for lunch and brought her nice flowers and a card which played a song (It hat to be you...). But when I came back from lunch I had a nice candy chocolate surprise from her delivered to my desk (eatable arrangements).
That weekend after we went to Waterton for a night, where we stayed at the Waterton Lodge resort, it was the second year that we stayed there for our anniversary, seems to get a nice little tradition. The kids stayed with Loretta and family (the night before we had her kids over, her 4 and our 2 makes unbelievable 6 kids at our house, but everything was just fine).
On the Saturday we dropped them all off at Loretta's house and Lettie and I went to Waterton to stay there over night. On the way there we stopped at the Twin Butte Mexican Pub for a snack. We could check in early at the Hotel and so we had a nice rest, later a walk thru the town-site and we visited the Pool and hot tub before our awesome dinner at the Vimy Lodge.
The next morning we had fresh snow, after a nice breakfast we had back to Lethbridge, those anniversary weekends are sooo nice and we really recharge our batteries.

Valentines tag und Hochzeitstag in den Bergen. Am 14/2/13 habe ich Lettie in meiner verlaengerten Mittagspause in einem Restaurant getroffen und ihr einen grossen Strauss Blumen gebracht, sowie eine Karte die ein Lied gespielt hat "It hat to be you......). Das drauffolgende Wochenende waren wir beiden (wie letztes Jahr) in Waterton und hatten ein romantisches Wochenende. Die Nacht vor unserem Wochende haben wir die Kinder unseres Nachbarn ueber Nacht gehabt, diese sind mit Erica und Nicole befreundet, da die nachbran die naechste Nacht unsere Kinder genommen haben konnten wir natuerlich nicht nein sagen allerdings haben die Nachbarn 4 Kinder (6 Monate bis 13 Jahre) so das wir 6 Kinder ueber Nacht hatten!!!
Den Samstag auf den Weg nach Waterton waren wir in dem Mexicanischen Pub in Twin Butte zum Mittag:

Wir konnten dann in unserem Hotel frueher einchecken und haben erst einmal relaxed und spaeter dann einen Spaziergng durch das verschneite Waterton gemacht. Das Hotel hat auch einen Pool und hot-tub, und hatten spaeter ein klasse Eseen in der Vimy Lounge. Am naechsten morgen hatten wir Neuschnee und Waterton war wieder einmal ein Winter Maerchen.

Myles over night -  his Mom asked us if we can take Myles over night during a weekday. So we tried to entertain the kids which went well (mostly). At night the both decided to play and talk instead of sleeping ahhh so we all where kind of tired the next day.

Wir hatten Myles (Nicole's kleiner Freund und future Ehemann) ueber Nacht bei uns unter der Woche, allerdings meinten die beiden mitten in der Nacht spielen und sich unterhalten zu muessen, ahhhhhhhh so waren wir alle den naechsten Tage muede.

Skiing with Nicole and Emma (her friend from pre-school) and Jason (who is Emma's Step Granddad).It was very icy on the way to Castle, and very full at the parking Spot because of two events going on there. But after we got everything we needed and after a nice breakfast Nicole and I hit the ski slopes and had a great day. Especially because her friend Emma and her Step Granddad Jason (my friend) where there too so the kids skied together , each on a leash down the hill. They had soooo much fun. From 1:00 - 2:30 both kids went to the day-care and played while Jason and I had some runs by our self. Than we picked the kids up and take another 2-3 runs before having Nachos and Juice (or Beer for me) at the T-bar.

Ski fahren mit Nicole und ihrer Freundin Emma und deren Stief-opa Jason (ein Freund mit dem ich immer Ski fahre). Es war etwas eisig bevor wir nach Castle Mountain kamen und der Parkplatz dort war sehr sehr voll. Aber es war ein schooner Skitag. Nicole und Emma waren von 1:00 - 2:30 in der Kindertagesstaette und spielten waehrend Jason und ich auch einmal fahren konnten. Danach haben wir dann och ein paar Abfahrten mit den Kindern gemacht bevor alle in der T-bar |Saft getrunken haben (Bier fuer mich).

A new YEAR

Ski fahren mit Nicole - An einem Sonntag waren wir dann mal wieder in Castle mountain (Nicole und ich). Die Leine an der ich mit Nicole die berge runter fahre ist echt gut, sie steht sehr sicher auf ihren Skiern. Einmal sind wir auch auf einen etwas groesseren Berg gefahren, wo wir nun zum 2. mal waren (sonst immer am Anfaenger Huegel). Sie mag die lange fahrt mit dem Lift ueberhaubt nicht und war ganz schoen am meckern, aber Berg runter war sie dann wieder am singen, oder sie fragt mich alle 2 Sekunden "Daddy this way, this way Daddy??". Gegen 1 Uhr ging sie dann in die Kindertagesstaette wo ich sie letztes Jahr nur unter traenen reinbekam, jetzt geht sie gerne dorthin und ist nur schwer raus zu bekommen. Waehrend sie dort drin war konnte ich mit Jason und seinem Freund ein paar runden drehen.

Skiing with Nicole at Castle Mountain -we are using a leash going down the hills and that work just perfect. We have been twice on a bigger hill, normally we stay on the beginners hill. She does not really like the long lift, she gets cold while going up the hill.But than going downhill she starts singing and enjoys it  very much, sometimes I have to take her on my arms to ski down a steeper part.And she is asking me every 2 sec. "Daddy this way, this way Daddy??". Around 1pm she joins the day-care for 2 hours, which she hated last season but likes it this one.So while she was in there i could do 2 runs with Jason and his friend, but after that I did some more with Nicole.

Nicole uebernachtet bei "Freund" - Nicole hatte eine nacht bei ihrem kleinen Freund Myles, die beiden sind beste Freunde und man was haben die beiden sich gefreut. Myles konnte es vor Aufregung wohl kaum aushalten. Die beiden verstehen sich blind und es ist eine freude zu sehen.

Nicole had a sleep over with Myles, those both are BFF's, they where both so happy to play together. Myles couldn't hardly handle the excitement and both had a great time.

Kino "date" - Lettie Erica und ich hatten einen Kinoe Abend waehrend Nicole bei Myles uebernachtet hatte, nach dem Kinoe waren Lettie und ich dann noch im Backstreet Pub.

Movie date, while Nicole stayed at Myles (her little friend) we including Erica could go and see a movie, and also enjoining afterwards (without Erica of course)a drink at the backstreet Pub.

Ski Wochenende in Lake Louise, Freitag nach der Arbeit fahre ich mit Jason in die Berge nach Lake Louise. Wir beleiben 3 Naechte in der Jugendherberge, die fully licensed ist und ein gutes Restaurant hat. Auf dem Weg durch Calgary haben wir natuerlich im Edelweiss Store gestoppt fuer lunch.
Wir hatten 2 volle Ski tage, an einem kam auch ein Freund von Jason der den Samstag mit uns Ski gefahren ist. Der Schnee haette bessser sein koennen, aber wir sind abseits der Pisten ueber unglaublich steile Haenge und mitten durch Waelder gefahren.
An diesem Wochenende war in Lake Louise auch ein "Ice Magic" Wochenende, dort wurden unglaublich geniale Skulpturen aus Eis geschaffen, die besten standen natuerlich direkt auf dem Lake Louise.
Den Sonntags war es dann kalt aber die Aussicht war klasse und wir hatten noch einmal einen genialen Ski Tag. Zum Abendessen gingen wir in die Train Station:

Wir hatten ein 8oz Steak, man war das gut!!! Und sind dann noch am Montag (der ein US Feiertag war, Martin Luther King day) in Banff in die heissen Quellen gegangen.

Lake Louise Ski weekend, Friday after work I drive with Jason up to Lake Louise (with a stop at the Edelweiss store for supper). We will stay 3 nights at the YHA in Lake Louise to ski.One of Jason's friends came for a day to ski with us. The weekend we stayed they had the "Ice magic" weekend, there was a competition of Ice carvers and the best amazing kinds of Ice Art where showed at the Lake Louise in front of the Fairmont Hotel. The last night we went for dinner to the "Train Station" a high end very great Restaurant.
On the way back to Lethbridge we stopped in Banff at the hot springs.

Ski mit den Kindern - Ende Januar war ich noch einmal Ski fahren mit beiden Kindern. Erica war in der Ski Schule und hat richtig vortschritte gemacht, waehrend Nicole wieder mit mir kam und an der Leine sichtlich Spass hatte, was man daran sehen konnte das sie pausenlos geredet oder gesungen hat oder sich ausgiebig die Umgebung angesehnen hat. Die lange Lift fahrt hoch zum Huckelberry Hill war nicht nach Nicoles Geschmack, sie hat sich stark beschwert hatte dann aber berg runter doch eine menge Spass. Fuer eine Stunde sind wir drei dann zusammen am Anfaenger Huegel gefahren. Es war fuer uns alle ein erfolgreicher Tag, selbst ich hatte 1 1/2 Stunden wo ich alleine fahren konnte Nicole war in de, Kindergarten und Erica hatte (Streber) Hausaufgaben.

Skiing with the kids again at Castle. Erica went 2 hours in Ski school and Nicole came with me. After lunch we even skied all three together on the beginners hill. Nicole even came up for one run on the Huckelberry(which is a long run). She was not very happy with me going on the long lift ride, but going down was fun for her. Later Nicole went to the day-care while Erica made home work (at the ski hill!!!), so I could go on a couple runs by myself. It was a great successful day.
