Weekend in Waterton

We have been in Waterton - for two nights we stayed in a B&B in Mountain View, we have been at that place many times, the breakfast is just amazing thought we had a room with two queen where one bad was up a ladder above the bathroom. Of course the kids occupied that spot so they could look down on us. While Lettie was working on her papers I took the kids to the park. Erica and Nicole hiked bears hump while I stayed in the town side and enjoyed a hotdog at Wieners of Waterton. Later that day Lettie joined us and we had a nice time together in the park. We had some relaxing time by the water and went to the Mexican place in picture Butte later. Of course we hit the hot tub later at the B&B. The next day we took it easy and we enjoyed a full day in the park before we went back home.

Anfang Juni waren wir 4 in einem B&B in den Bergen, wir hatten einen schönen Raum mit 2 großen Betten wobei eines über dem Badezimmer gebaut war, welches natürlich von den Kindern beschlagnahmt wurde. Von dort könnten Sie wie von einem Piratenschiff auf uns herunter schauen. Während Lettie an ihrem Universitäts Kurs gearbeitet hat bin ich mit den Kindern ins Dorf und während meine beiden wandern gegangen sind habe ich es mir gemütlich gemacht. Später ist Lettie auch in die Berge gekommen und wir haben zusammen einen schönen Nachmittag gehabt den wir im mexikanischen Restaurant beendet haben. Am nächsten Tag sind wir dann in aller Ruhe nach Hause gefahren und haben fast noch den ganzen Tag in den Bergen verbracht.

Broke my right hand so I was off for months of June, first with the cast and then later I had to get my fingers moving took a while to be paying less in my hand, on the other side I had a chance to see a lot of games for the EURO 2016.

Da ich mir die rechte Hand gebrochen habe war ich fast ganzen Monat krankgeschrieben, Lohnfortzahlung im Krankheitsfall gibt es ja nicht, zum Glück habe ich eine Versicherung die zu mindestens 60 % meines Lohns bezahlt hat. Zumindest konnte ich einige Spiele der Europa Meisterschaft schauen.

Checking on Rileigh, being good neighbors means that we of course check on our neighbours dog when they ask us, they were cutting our lawn while I had a cast. It's great to have good neighbors.

Wir passen mal wieder auf unsere Nachbars Hund auf, da wir gute Nachbarn sind. Natürlich helfen uns unsere Nachbarn auch immer wenn wir sie brauchen.

Movie at Agnes Davidson. Nicole's class made a movie like the year before. They showed the movie at the Gym, and we had a red carpet and popcorn and prizes. It's so great that her teacher does all the work and the kids love it. 

Nicole's Schulklasse hat wie in die Jahre zuvor wieder einen Film gemacht der in der Aula der Schule vorgeführt wurde.

Es gab einen roten Teppich Fotos und Popcorn, und die Kinder haben alle einen Preis bekommen. Das waren quasi die Oscars in klein.

Euro 2016 in France and I have the chance to see many games as I am on disability. So I can see that Germany makes it's in the round of the last 16, and hopefully they can make it even further from there. I see some very good games with some teams that really surprise like Iceland.

Ich habe die Chance einige Spiele der Euro 2016 zu schauen, bin total begeistert über Island. Hoffe natürlich dass die deutschen weit kommen in diesem Tournament.

Lettie and Erica went to Calgary so that Erica could meet the girls she went to Spain with and Lettie met with her friend Kristine. So Nicole and I went to see the new animated movie Zootopia followed by a visit at Swiss Chalet and a night walk later before bedtime.

Lettie und Erica waren für eine Nacht in Calgary so dass Erica einige ihrer Freundinnen die auch in Spanien waren treffen konnte. Nicol und ich haben uns Zootopia angeschaut und wir waren lecker essen und haben später eine Nachtwanderung gemacht ( bei uns im Park ).

Volunteering at Nicole school, they had a field trip to a nearby Park and I stayed with Nicole's class and teacher while they were playing at the playground and when they had their lunch at a waterpark.

Da ich ja noch krankgeschrieben war konnte ich bei dem Schulausflug in einen nahe gelegenen Park helfen. Die Kinder hatten Spaß auf einem Spielplatz und in einem Wasserpark.

We got her back

Erica is back after 10 weeks in Spain. We went to Calgary to pick her up and we stayed in a hotel close to the airport in a new industrial area. We were happy to have Erica back in to listen to all the stories and adventures thankful for all the presents she brought back. On Sunday morning we took it easy in the hotel, we took a long time to get ready and then went for brunch downtown Calgary at Nellies, which is kind of an old-fashioned breakfast place.

Soon later we arrived back home, long time ago that Erica has been here and we had a surprise for her. Lettie and I renovated Erica's room, she has a very grown-up looking room with some nice features.

Nach zehn Wochen ist Erica wieder zu Hause, wir sind nach Calgary gefahren und haben sie dort am Flughafen abgeholt außerdem sind wir eine Nacht nachher am Flughafen in einem Hotel geblieben. Erica hatte Geschenke für jeden dabei und eine Menge zu erzählen. Am nächsten Morgen haben wir es dann ruhig angehen lassen und sind erst gegen Mittag zum brunchen nach Calgary down Town gefahren. Dort haben wir dann einen Muttertagsbrunch gehabt.

My birthday weekend, on the 21st I invited some friends to go bowling our kids came to. Including the kids we were 10 people, everybody had a good time and off the bowling was done we went out for a drink. The next day Lettie Nicole and I went to Waterton as the United Church had a service in the church where Nicole was baptized. Even if it was a rainy day it still was nice to be in the mountains.

An meinem Geburtstag gehen wir mit Freunden zum Bowling, die Kinder kamen auch mit und wir hatten eine Menge Spaß. Anschließend sind wir die Erwachsenen noch in eine Kneipe gegangen. Am nächsten Morgen sind Lettie Nicole und ich nach Waterton zum Gottesdienst gefahren, in die gleiche  Kirche wo Nicole vor acht Jahren getauft wurde. Es war das erste lange Wochenende für Waterton, leider sehr verregnet aber selbst dann ist es schön in den Bergen zu sein.

May 31 the day off for me, so I took Nicole and we went to the mountains for the day.Waterton was quite empty, hardly any wind some clouds mostly sun. We did the typical things like bears hump going to the lake to Zum's and enjoying the mountains and all its nature. We also went to the pool which is beside Vimy' lodge. It was a nice way to end the month of May.

But that day wasn't over, as I broke my hand that evening falling up(!) the stairs. The bones might need some screws to keep them in position.

Am 30 hatte ich einen Tag frei, ich habe Nicole aus der Schule genommen und wir sind einen Tag nach Waterton gefahren. Wir hatten einen schönen sonnigen Tag und fast keinen Wind, was für ein schöner Tag. So kann man den Monat beenden, ......... Allerdings das war noch nicht das Ende. Denn an dem Tag habe ich mir die rechte Hand gebrochen als ich die Treppe raufgefallen bin. Der Bruch muss evtl verschraubt werden, um die Knochen in die richtige Position zu bekommen.
