Thanks giving eve
I still had 2 days off before I had to go back to work on September 22nd. It was kind of hard to go back to work, we just had a great time in Europe and I really enjoyed to be in my old hometown.
Erica is the first 2 weeks after our vacation with us.
It takes only a couple days to put everything away from the trip and to do the laundry, but the memories will and have to life much longer, I do not think that I will be back in Germany before 2012.
The leaves are falling like crazy and autumn is coming fast, but the weather is not to bad, it is actually nice warm.
The first weekend after we came back we go again to the Pumpkin festival at the Green heaven garden center. It's kind of our traditions that we go there and get the our photos done, sitting on pumpkins. The have a little animals Zoo for kids and Pumpkin cake and many activities going on.
The weekend later we went to our cottage. For an afternoon we went from our cottage to Waterton to enjoy the nice sunny day in the Park. It was just great sitting by the lake and going to the little Village. Some stores are already closed for the winter season.
Nicole can count till 10 in German............well I say the numbers first and she is repeating it. But it is nice to hear her talking German!, she is a
Our little one felt Friday from a wall 3 feet down and banged her head on a concrete floor just inches away from the edge of a concrete step!
I went with her immediately to the emergency, where she throw up twice. But she had no other signs of a concussion. We had to watch her that night and wake her up every 2-3 hrs to see if she is still OK, there was a risk that she might have bleeding inside her head,there where NO signs for this but we had of course to keep an eye on it.
But she was fine and everything is fine now! But that was a shock!! I saw her falling, but could not catch her.
2 days later we went to my in laws for a thanks giving dinner. Nicole really liked Lettie's Pumpkin soup, and we all loved Dad's Turkey breast! We had a great time and we filled our belly's with good food!
I went hiking in Many Glacier Montana to Grinnel Glacier, it was just a nice sunny day, just a little bit chilly by the Glacier. We ran into a Moose and later into a Bear with his MOM, they where just meters away from us. There was no danger, but of course we where paying much more attention after this "meeting". The Glacier was very beautiful and you had a great view down to the lakes by the Many Glacier Hotel!
Election day in Alberta, the vote for the Alderman and Major in Alberta and Lethbridge got a new Major after 12 years, the old one retired.
Oktoberfest at the German Canadian Club, that was our 4th. time in a row. We meet us with my former Co-worker Terry and his fiance the 3rd. time already. They love to come and have some good food and beer, and some dancing to Polka music. They also won a big fruit basket this year, lucky them!
Ich hatte noch 2 Tage bevor ich wieder zurueck ins Buero musste nach unserem Urlaub. Wir hatten eine gute Zeit in Europa und besonders in Deutschland. Es war schoen mal wieder alle zu sehen und auch in der alten Heimat mal wieder zu sein.
An dem ersten Wochenende Zuhause sind wir dann wie jedes Jahr wieder zum Kuerbisfest im Green-heaven Gartencenter gegangen. Dort gibt es einen Streichelzoo und Spiele fuer Kinder, man kann Photos machen lassen und vieles vieles mehr.

Und dann der Schock am Freitag dem 08.10, als Nicole bei uns in garten die Mauer runter fiel. Ich habe gerade ihr Dreirad auf den rasen gestellt, als ich sehen wie sie auf der Mauer das Gleichgewicht verliert und faellt. Dabei knallt sie auf den Betonboden und verfehlt die Kante der Stufe nur um Zentimeter. Wir sind dann sofort ins Krankenhaus, sie hatte keine aeuserlichen Anzeichen, aber die Gefahr einer Gehirnerschuetterung bestand.
Im Krankenhaus hat sie sich dann auch 2 x uebergeben, aber da der Arzt keine weiteren Anzeichen sah konnten wir wieder gehen, mussten sie aber alle 2 Stunden in der Nacht wach machen und kontrolieren ob sie OK ist.
Zum Erntedankfest essen sind wir dann bei meinen Schwiegereltern gewesen. Es gab Truthanbrust und Stampfkartoffeln und Kuerbis-kuchen. Nicole ueberraschte uns indem sie sogar die Kuerbissuppe ass.
Wandern in den Bergen - Ich war mal wieder in Montana mit der Wandergruppe. Wir sind zum Grinell Gletscher gewandert. Bei dieser Wanderung sind wir zuerst einem Elch begegnet und spaeter hatten wir einen Baeren auf unseren Pfad und die Mutter oberhalb auf einen Felsen! Das war schon richtig aufregend. Die Wanderung gin zum einem Gletscher, trotz Sonne war der der Wind recht kuehl, aber wenn der Wind nicht so stark blies war es klasse. Die Wanderung war hin und zurueck 20 km.
Wahlen in Alberta, noch kann ich nicht waehlen gehen. In Alberta waren Kommunalwahlen und Lethbridge hat nach 12 Jahren einen neuen Buergermeister (der alte ist in Rente gegangen!).
Oktoberfest, wir waren jetzt zum 4. mal im Deutsch Kanadischen Klub zum Oktoberfest. Es war das dritte mal das mein Ex Kollege Terry und seine Freundin mit uns kamen. Wir hatten gutes essen (Bratwurst - Haxe - Sauerkraut) und haben sogar ein paar mal getanzt zu Deutschen Schlagern.
