Skiing - first half day of the season, man was that cold. Minus 15 and with windchill even colder, but Nicole who was in ski school for 2 hours (she was the only kid in her group) had still a great time. Later we had a couple runs together. Pizza and Beer/hot chocolate at the T-bar ended that nice day. Nicole's Ski teacher was there too with her family.
Erster Ski Tag der neuen Saison, man war das kalt. Minus 15 und mit dem Windfaktor am Gipfel noch weitaus kälter. Nicole war in der Skischule, als einzigstes Kind. Sie hatte trotzdem eine gute Zeit und alle 20 min. ging sie zum aufwärmen in die Lodge. Den Tag haben wir mit Pizza und Bier/heiße Schokolade abgerundet, ihr Skilehrer und ihre Familie waren auch in der T-Bar.
Second day of skiing - what a great sunny warm day and what a nice World Ski days event at Castle Mtn.. Nicole was racing down a slalom course and did actually pretty well. When she went to daycare for an hour I could have a couple runs by my self, but the most time we skied together, even once on a Huckelberry run. As usual we ende the day with Cheese pizza at the T-bar.
Der zweite Tag am Skihill war um einiges wärmer, es war ein sonniger Tag und es war der Ski Welttag mit vielen Aktionen am Ski Hang. Nicole ist einen Kinder Slalom gefahren und Recht gut. Als sie dann im Kinderhort war für eine Stunde konnte ich einmal etwas alleine fahren. Wir sind sogar eine Runde auf einer langen Grünen Piste gefahren, ansonsten waren wir am Anfängerhügel. Den Tag haben wir dann wieder mit Pizza in der T-Bar abgerundet.
Night at the Casino - we had a date night at the casino with live music and a couple drinks, just a great time. We even won $50 by investing only $5 at the slot machine.
Lettie und ich hatten ein Date im Casino, es gab Live Musik und wir hatten ein paar Drinks. Und mit nur $5 haben wir an einem einarmigen Banditen $50 gewonnen.
Spring temperature - no snow and temperature up to 20 .... 20!! What a nice day, we enjoyed that hot day as we know how fast it can get nasty again.
Man mag es kaum glauben aber wir hatten einen Tag im Januar mit plus 20 Grad! Was,für ein schöner Tag, wir hatten Spaß draußen zu sein den wir wissen das es sehr schnell wieder sehr kalt und weiß sein kann.
Lettie works on her next paper for her HR degree and Erica had her examen week at high school. Nicole works with her class on a movie project which they present in March.
Lettie arbeitet fleißig an ihrem Masters in Personalwesen, Erica hatte ihre Klasur Woche in der Hochschule und Nicole und ihre Klasse Arbeiten an einem Film. Dieser Film wird dann im März in der Scule vorgeführt.
Oktoberfest and Freiburg in September.
I just got my tickets for my trip in September, it was just a great deal with Air Transat via Amsterdam. I will go from there (with a night stay over at my cousin Regina) to Freiburg in the Black Forest and stay with a friend for 4 days, my next stop will be Munich and the Oktoberfest, where I stay with another friend for 2 days. From here I take the train to my old hometown and be with family for 5 days and before I fly back I will have one night in Amsterdam.
Oktoberfest und Freiburg in September
Ich habe meine Tickets für die Reise im September gebucht. Ich werde alleine über Amsterdam mit einer Übernachtung bei meiner Cousine Regina in Duisburg nach Freiburg Reisen via Zug. in Freiburg werde ich bei meinem Freund Mike sein für 4 Tage. Dann nach meinem Freund Thomas in München für
2 Tage zum Oktoberfest. Von dort mit dem IC nach Wuppertal wo ich 5 Tage mit meiner Familie bin bevor es wieder nach Amsterdam geht wo ich dann noch eine Nacht habe.
