Dinner on the 25th at our house 

Nicole Xmas concert - even if only 2 grades had their Christmas concert (out of 5 grades) it was nuts. They gym was packed with people and it was to loud to hear the junior choir. God thx Nicole's class performance was in her class room and we had fun to see the kids performance.

Nicole hatte ihr Weihnachts Konzert in der Schule. Selbst wenn nur 2 der 5 Jahrgänge teilnahmen war es recht chaotisch. Der Sportsaal war überlaufen und es dauerte für ewig vom Sportsaal in die Klassenzimmer zu kommen wo die Kinder eine Vorführung für die Eltern hatten. Es war trotzdem toll die Kinder zu sehen , natürlich war das Lied in Französisch.

Lettie one of the best of her class - of course she got a great result on her next paper which will get her a degree in HR within the next years (writing more papers of course).Xmas party with WCHS, Lettie had her Xmas party at Luigis at the south side. We had good food and some fun games.

Lettie hat ihr nächstes Seminar für den Abschluss im Personlaswesen als eine der besten abgeschlossen. Sie muss noch einige Kurse machen aber ist auf dem besten Weg zu einem guten Abschluss. Die Weihnachtsfeier von der Schule in der sie arbeitet war in einem Restaurant, wir hatten gutes Essen und Spaß bei ein paar Spielen.

Every 2nd Sunday in December the Lutheran Church in Lethbridge has her German Christmas carols, this time I jut went with Lettie (who by the way sings loud in German, better than some other people at church) and we let the kids home, actually Nicole visited with Erica at Matt's house.
 

An jedem 2. Sonntag im Dezember hat die Lutheranische Kirche in Lethbridge ihren Deutschen Gottesdienst mit deutschen Weihnachstliedern. Dieses Mal bin ich nur mit Lettie gegangen die viele der Lieder laut in Deutsch mitgesungen hat. Nicole und Erica waren währenddessen bei Ericas Papa für einen Besuch.

Xmas party with COC - the hiking club had his party out on a ranch just the night after Lettie's school Xmas party. We had Turkey and a pot luck. Nicole came with us and had actually a good time. That night we got quiet a bit of snow, but we managed to come home safely.

Am Tag nach Lettie's Arbeits Weihnachtsfeier hatten wir die Feier mit dem Wanderclub. Es gab Truthahn und jeder brachte etwas zum Essen mit. Nicole kam auch mit uns und hatte Spaß mit uns.

Erica in Math stress, she has her Tudor lined up to get that Math in her head, and I am sure she will be doing just great and be the excellent Student she is.

Erica bekommt Mathe Nachilfe und ich bin sicher das sie auch das meistern wird, sie ist ja ein hervorragender Schüler.

We gave the presents to the kids on the 24th. like we do in Germany. On the 25th. in the morning we did the stockings. Nicole got a Playmobile shopping Mall, which fits perfect to the two houses she already has. Bothe kids also got the 4Star German jersey, which Lettie and I already have. And of course we all got brand-new PJs to wear Christmas night.  
On the 25th. we had Mom Catherine and Mike over for dinner, we had Steaks and baked potatoes with green beans and 2 kinds of salad. It was nice to have family in our house. We alduts gave us stockings, Mike for me and I did one for him and Cath and Lettie did stockings for each other.

Wir haben unseren Kindern die Geschenke am 24. gegeben, wie in Deutschland. am 25. haben sie dann die Weihnachtssocken geöffnet die Santa in der Nacht gefüllt hatte. Nicole hat die Playmobil Mall bekommen, sie hat ja schon 2 große Häuser von Playmobil. Die Kinder haben auch ein Deutschland Jersey bekommen, Lettie und ich hatten ja schon eines. Natürlich gab es auch wieder, wie jedes Jahr, neue Weihnachts Schlafanzüge. 

Am 25. sind dann auch Lettie's Schwester Catherine und Ehemann Mike sowie Oma zu uns zum Abendessen gekommen. Wir hatten Steak und gebackene Kartoffeln mit Dip und grünen Bohnen. Und wir Erwachsene haben uns mit Geschenken gefüllte Weihnachtssocken gegeben.

Lettie's birthday weekend of fun, first we went for couple dinner at Hudson's the next day Lettie got Breakfast in bed made by the kids, later we four went bowling and had a great time as a family and after that German cake at 609.

Lettie Geburtstags Wochenende, zuerst waren Lettie und ich Samstags abends aus zum Essen, ohne Kinder! Dann an ihrem Geburtstag gäbe es Frühstück im Bett und wir waren später zum Bowling als Familie, das war eine riesen Gaudi. Anschließend waren wir bei Lettie's Mutter und hatten Deutschen Kuchen den ich im Holländischen Supermarkt gekauft habe.

Pumpkins in the park  - we had our neighbours and friends over the night after helloween to bring their pumpkins to light them up after dark. So we had a fire in the fire pit and hot chocolate and snacks. We had to have it at our carport as the weather was to bad. Later after we all went inside even Nicole's teacher Mrs. Schultchen came and Nicole was quit proud and gave her a tour of our house.

Wir hatten unsere Nachbarn die Nacht nach Helloween zum "Kürbis im Garten" bei uns. Wir hatten ein Lagerfeuer und heiße Schokolade und die Nachbarn brachten ihre geschnitzten Kürbisse die wir dann erleuchtet haben. Sogar Nicoles Klassenlehrerin kam, natürlich war Nicole recht froh darüber.

Car crash at 115 - Lettie forgot that I was Parking behind her so she drove into my car and damaged both cars. What do they say "shit happen". We have to wait for weeks to get both cars repaired.

Lettie hat vergessen das ich hinter ihr geparkt habe an unserem Haus und so musste es natürlich kommen wie es kam.....sie ist in mein Auto gefahren. Jetzt müssen wir bis Mitte Dezember warten bis du Autos wieder repariert sind.

Soccer success for Nicole - another successful soccer season for Nicole. She is a striker and man is she fast.

Nicole spielt noch eine Saison Fußball und man ist sie schnell und sie hat einen Tor Riecher.

Report cards - what else can I say than our kids are brilliant. Erica's average is 86% and Nicole's card is above average. Both have their weaknesses in one field but do great in so many others. And Nicole had just 3 month of French Kindergarten while others had one or two  years.

Erica und Nicole haben ihre ersten Zwischenzeugnisse bekommen und beide waren sehr sehr gut. Ericas Durschnitt ist 86% und Nicoles Zeugniss (in den ersten Schulklassen gibt es noch keine %) war über Durchschnittlich gut. Beide haben ihre kleinen Schwächen aber sie sind so gut in den meisten Sachen. Man muss auch berücksichtigen das Nicole ja nur drein Monate im Französischem Kindergarten war während andere Kinder ein oder zwei Jahre dort hatten.

COC President - after a short interim term as the COC President I gave my position up at the next election and retired from my 3 years as Vize and as President.

Nach drei Jahren als Vizepräsident und Präsident des COC Chinook Hiking Club habe ich Mitte November das Amt and meine Nachfolgerin übergeben.

SLF party - we had our annual party and as usual we had a great time at the cost Hotel, LA Chefs did the catering. I even one a prize. A family card to the Holiday Inn pool and a $75 gift card for Streetside as well an additional Holiday.

Wir hatten unsere große Jahres Party vom Büro in einem großen Hotelsaal mit super Buffet und einem DJ. Ich habe sogar einen Preis gewonnen, eine Familien Karte fürs Schwimmbad und einen Gutschein für Restaurant ($75) sowie einen extra Urlaubstag.

Snow and cold - snow comes and goes and sometimes with temperatures around minus 28 to minus 30, minus 42 with the Windchill. That's an early start of those cold temperatures this season.

Eis und Schnee und 28-30 grad minus und sogar minus 42 mit dem Windfaktor , das ist ein recht früher Start für die Kälte diesen Winter.

On the American thanksgiving I visited Nicole at schools for and hour. Nice to see her in class and work with her.

Am US thanksgiving der später ist als der kanadische (ich habe ja die US Feiertage!) war ich Zuhause und habe fuer eine Stunde Niocle in der Schule besucht. Es war klasse das ich in die Klasse konnte.
