Wir waren alle nacheinander krank, ich hatte ein paar Tage zuhause bleiben muessen, bloede Sommer Grippen.
hike to Vimy - that one on my bucket list and now there is not much left on hikes I haven't done in Waterton. Peter and I drove with our bikes the first 6.7 km thru a very wet muddy path before hiked up again to a very muddy path (at the beginning only)for another 5.5 km up to Vimy peak. The view was breath taking and you do not have very often this bird view down on to Waterton especially from that side. Just 3 hours after the peak we stopped at Zum's for Schnitzel and beer and Vimy peak looked so far away from the Zum's veranda.
Wanderung zum Vimy Mountain, der Berg war schon lange auf meiner to do Liste. Mein Freund Peter und ich sind erst 6.7 km geradelt teilweise durch Schlamm, dann noch weieter 5.5 km gewandert auch hier teilweise Knoecheltief im Schlamm.
Die sicht auf Waterton vom Gipfel hat man von dieser Seite des Sees nicht sehr oft. Vom Gipfel konnte man schon das Restaurant "Zum's" sehen wo wir spaeter Bier und Schnitzel hatten, aber bis dahin waren es noch 3 Stunden Berg runter.
Mom of and on in HO - Mom had some Problems with her health, so she had to be in the Hospital twice for a couple things, Catherine who was here at that time could take care of that and make sure that Mom get all the help she needed.
Because Mike could come too this time, I took the chance to go on a drink with my brother in law to the Shark club. While Catherine and Mike were here we also went on a double date to Mojo's to have beer and finger food.
Later that month we also hat the 2. oldest sister Edith with husband Rich and son Robert in Lethbridge. Nicole looooves Robert and Rick.
Meine Schwiegermutter war mal im dann wieder draussen und dann wieder im Krankenhaus, sie hatte Probleme mit dem Herzen und der Lunge. Catherine (die 2. juensgte Tochter) war zu diesem Zeitpunkt hier und konnte aushelfen. Da mein Schwager Mike auch kam konnte ich mal die Gelegenheit nutzen mit ihm einen trinken zu gehen. Ausserdem waren wir vier auch mal asus um Burger und Bier zu haben.
Spaeter im Monat hatten wir dann auch noch die 2. aelteste Schwester Edith und Ehemann Rick sowie Sohn Robert in Lethbridge, Nicole liebt Rick und Robert doch sehr.
Helping with cement floor for John's Garage -My co-worker John got cement for his new garage floor, and I helped (with a couple others) to get the wet cement in place. A Job I don't do all the times.
Ich habe meinem Kollegen John beim Zementboden Giessen fuer die neue Garage geholfen. Eine Arbeit die ich auch nicht alle Tage mache.
Whoop up days - First time in years that we went to the fair, nice summer day hot dogs mini donuts and some kiddy rides, Nicole had a blast and we adults too.
Zur Whoop up day Kirmes sind wir nach Jahren mal wieder gegangen, Nicole und Lettie haben ein paar Fahrten gemacht und wir hatten einen kleinen Imbiss.
Fuer meine Deutschen Leser muss ich erklaeren das man fuer die Kirmes erst einmal $12 Eintritt bezahlt und dann pro Fahrt noch einmal 4-6 Tickets und fuer 20 Tickest am Block bezahlt man $23.
Huckleberry Festival at Castle Mountain - this year we made it again to that nice event at the Ski hill. One of the Ski lifts is running and you can go up to pick Huckleberry and enjoy these beautiful mountains. They have live music down by the resort, kids face painting, BBQ, silent auction, jumping castle and and and. We took the lift up but walked down the hill as the line up was very long, so at least we could pick more berries on the way down.
The reason for us being in the area was that we have been at our cottage that day as our tenants extended their rental agreement with us for another year.
Huckelberry (eine Art Blaubeeren) Festival am Ski Hang. Mit dem Lift konnte man hochfahren zum pfluecken, da das anstehen fuer die runterfahrt aber sooooo lange dauerte sind wir in ca. 45 Minuten runter gelaufen und haben dabei noch Beeren gepflueckt.
Unten gab es eine Huepfburg, Kinder konnten sich die Gesichter anmalen lassen, es gab Live Musik es wurde gegrillt es gabe einen Basar und das Wetter war genial.
Wir waren eh in der Region da unsere Mieter den Vertrag fuer unser Haueschen in den Bergen verlaengert haben fuer ein weiteres Jahr.
Erica has her driving license now and we practicing now driving on a shift car.
Erica hat den Fuehrerschein, mit 14, sie darf aber noch nicht alleine fahren und im moment ueben wir kraeftig Schaltwagen fahren.
Galt Museum open house day, we stayed for an Saturday afternoon and did some activities in this nice Museum above the Coulees.
Das Galt Museum in Lethbridge hatte einen Tage der offenen Tuere, es gab eine menge Aktivitaeten und es war schoen den Nachmittag in dem Museum oberhalb der Coulees (eine Art kleine Schlucht die vom Oldman rivr durchflossen wird) zu verbringen.
So we go again next year, it will be me and Erica only, flights below. From Vienna to Wuppertal we will most likely take the train, as it will be a nice experience for Erica and its so cheap to take the train. The 8 1/2 hour ride will be round about $70 per Ticket, we use the high speed train on some parts and can use the restaurant or maybe take the night train and sleep in a bed, lets see.
Naechstes Jahr kommen Erica und ich nach Deutschland (siehe unten). Zuerts fleigen wir nach Wien wo wir bei Didi und Gerhardt bleiben, von da wuerde ich gerne den Nachtzug von Wien nach Koeln nehmen wo wir ein Schlafabteil buchen koennten. Das waere fuer mich unfd Erica mal ein ganz besonderes Erlebniss.
