The November this year is the warmest November I ever had since I came to Canada 11 ago. We had days with over 20 degrees and on Remembrance Day Lettie and Nicole went to the event downtown on a beautiful nice day. What else happened in November??........ Lettie and Nicole continue with their volunteering at good Sam's - Nicole and I discovered and new supermarket (no frills) - Erica is working long hours at L. A. Chefs - and I saw the first Christmas trees out just the day after Halloween maybe next time we leave them out year-round.I had a long weekend in November and as I had American Thanksgiving and Black Friday off and so I took Nicole off school and we went to Waterton for one night. We stayed in the same bed and breakfast we always stay at, the one in Mountain View which is just 20 minutes out of Waterton. The park is very empty this time of the year and has his own slow dynamic which I really like.Erica and Nicole did some Christmas ornaments pottery at Casa, for four hours they had some sister time and did some amazing art work.We also dog and house sitted for our neighbours Who went on a couple days trip.we don't mind to stay there while they are gone, actually we really like to stay there. Bob and Lois I just amazing neighbours and we know that we can count on them anytime we need them. Nicole is going to the university for swim lessons and she has a coach for a few weeks just by herself.

Der November 2016 ist einer der wärmsten Seitdem ich in Kanada bin wir hatten Tage mit über 20°. So konnten Nicole und Lettie Lettie am Kriegsgedenktag einen schönen sonnigen Tag im Stadtzentrum verbringen. Was ist sonst noch im November passiert, Erica arbeitet regelmäßig bei einem Catering Unternehmen, Nicole und Lettie gehen regelmäßig in ein Senioren Center um dort einigen der Senioren mit Gesprächen und Gesellschaft die Zeit zu vertreiben. Ich hatte Ende November zwei Tage frei, ein langes Wochenende. Ich bin dann mit Nicole für eine Nacht in die Berge gefahren bei Waterton. Es war sehr ruhig in dem kleinen Bergdorf da die Saison immer nur von Mitte Mai bis Ende September geht. Und auch in der Unterkunft waren wir die einzigen Gäste, trotzdem haben wir es sehr genossen einfach mal für eine kurze Zeit in den Bergen zu sein. Für unsere Nachbarn haben wir mal wieder ein paar Tage auf den Hund aufgepasst, dann Quartieren wir uns immer in ihrem Haus ein. Das ist einfacher für uns und der Hund ist in seiner ihm bekannten Umgebung. Nicol hat an der Universität montags immer schwimm Unterricht, man kann sehen dass sie sich im Wasser sehr wohl fühlt. Erica und Nicole haben an einem Samstag in einer Art Galerie Weihnachtsschmuck aus Ton hergestellt, dieser wird nun gebrannt und in zwei Wochen werden sie ihre Kunstwerke dann anstreichen.

2 Oktoberfest this month - one in Galt Gardens where I went again after Lettie and I went the night before. Nicole had to be at a birthday party at Michaels and what better way for me to attend at the downtown fest again. Just a week later we went to the Oktoberfest at the German Canadian Club, where we go since 2007. This time Erica came with us, she had some good times too with us old folks. Our neighbors Bob and Lois came and Lois sister Donna as well my former Co-worker Terry and his partner Maggie. We had some good food as usual and Lois won the big prize, a box with lots of booze which was mostly wine.We also went to the yearly pumpkin festival event at green heaven where we always go to get our pictures done, so this year we went of of course again, and after that we went to the "word on the street" event which was downtown. 

We had also the first snow this season which was more than a foot. But after a couple days of chinook it was all gone and we actually had a great golden October. Another of our traditions is that we go to the corn maze north of Lethbridge, last year we took our Spanish student Sofia there. Oh and big news, Erica passed her drivers and she can drive now by herself, she just needs a.bit more practice on our standard cars before we feel comfortable to let her go on her own.

It's also pumpkin carving time and we did some amazing carving.

Im Oktober hatten wir zwei mal die Möglichkeit zu einem Oktoberfest zu gehen, wie viel hast du Möglichkeit war im Stadtpark volitiven ich schon am letzten Septembertag hingegangen sind. Am 1. Oktober war Nicole dann auf einer Geburtstagsparty eingeladen rein zufällig Downtown war und daher habe ich die Möglichkeit ergriffen noch einmal dorthin zu gehen um etwas deutsche Gemütlichkeit zu haben, mit Bier und Schnitzel. Zwei Wochen später sind wir dann wie geht es ja zum deutsch kanadischen zum Oktoberfest gegangen, dort haben immer einen Tisch mit acht Leuten. Wir hatten unsere Nachbarn sowie einen früheren Arbeitskollegen und seine Freundin so wie Erica mit uns, und wir hatten eine Menge Spaß gutes Essen und gute Getränke und unsere Nachbarn haben sogar den Hauptpreis gewonnen der aus einem Korb mit Wein und anderen Alkohol bestand. Dieses sind wir auch wieder zum Kürbis Festival gegangen wir auch immer unser Familienfoto machen lassen. Außerdem hatten wir unseren ersten Schneefall gute 30 cm die aber nach zwei Tagen Föhn wieder weg geschmolzen waren.
Erica hat ihren Fuhrerschein, sie hat die praktische Pruefung bestanden und darf nun alleine Auto fahren. Sie braucht nur ein wenig mehr Uebung um unsere Schaltwagen zu fahren.
Und es war wieder Kuerbis Zeit und wir haben ein paar tolle Kuerbisse geschnitzt.

September back to school to Nicole in grade 3 and Erica in grade 12 and Lettie just back to her work at the high school. It's Erica is my last year of school, and it is the first time that Nicole has English and French immersion school. Lettie and her girlfriends went to Pincher Creek for a weekend to celebrate our neighbors and friend Lois birthday. I picked Lettie up on Sunday morning at the motel in Pincher Creek and we drove to Waterton where we went to Church as Lettie was singing with the Church Choir. While Lettie had fun with her friends, the kids and I went to a movie. 

Lettie and I have a big anniversary this year - September 16 1991 was the first time that we meet each other in Australia, so we know each other for 25 years now. I included a photo from back than and now in this newsletter. There was a fair at Gald garden with a Ferries wheel which was free to use, food stands and lots of other activities, Lethbridge has a lot of events going on during the year! The sold "Koelsch" which is a specific Beer brewed in Cologne normally, but now more and more of Canada's Beer brewers offer that kind of Beer. I hiked one of the mountains in Waterton that I havent hiked yet, Crandell Mountain. Erica and Peter hiked with me, and it was quit the adventure to find the trail up to the peak and it was soooooooo steep. We came to the lower peak and had to cancel our attempt to reach the real peak as the wind blow like crazy. But we still had some very nice views and the hike was hard but great. And Lethbridge had his Oktoberfest downtown Lethbridge for the third time , its gets bigger every year, last year I missed it as I went to the real Oktoberfest in Munich.

September und die Schule faengt wieder an, Erica ist in der 12 Klasse und Nicole in der 3., und dieses Jahr hat sie auch englisch auf dem Schulplan (sie geht ja in die Franzoesische Schule). Lettie war mit ihren Freundinnen in Pincher Creek uebers Wochenende, das ist ein kleines Kaff etwa eine Autostunde endfernt von uns, die Frauen hatten eine guite Zeit und haben den Geburtstag unserer Nachbarin Lois gefeiert. Ich habe Lettie dann Sonntags abgeholt und wir sind dann nach Waterton gefahren wo Lettie mit dem Kirchenchor einen Auftritt hatte. 

Lettie und ich feierten am 16 September unseren 25zigsten Jahrestag an dem wir uns kennen gelernt haben, damals in Australien. Bei uns m Staedchen waren auch die ein oder andere Veranstaltung im September, wir hatten eine LP Boerse, da gab es dann auch aktivitaeten fuer Kinder zym Beispiel ein Riesenrad. Dann hattten wir noch das Oktoberfest im Stadt Zentrum (das ist unabhaengig vom dem Oktoberfest im Deutsch Kanadischen Klub), und dieses fand zum dritten mal statt und wird auch jedes Jahr groesser. Ca. 1500 Menschen waren an jedem der zwei Abende da, es gabe eine Bayrische Kapelle, Bratwurst Schnitzel und jede menge Deutsches Bier. Natuerlich hatte ich meine bayrische Garnitur (mit Lederhose) an. 

Und wir haben mal wieder eine Wanderung gemacht, mein Freund Peter und meine Tochter Erica (17) und ich sind auf einen Berg gewandert. Das war schon ganz schoen steil, und relativ schlecht markiert aber die Aussicht war schoen, leider sind wir nur zum unteren Gipfel gekommen da der Wind zu stark geblasen hat.
