Where to start ... well we have seen and we have experienced a lot on this trip to Germany and Ireland.
Here a short reminder what we have seen in which order:
We all went to Europe via Amsterdam, from here on we split in two groups. While Lettie and Erica went to Dublin, me and Nicole went to Dusseldorf that same day we came to Europe.
Erica and Lettie stayed in a Bed and Breakfast in Dublin the first night and than with Diane and Eric in northern Ireland for the rest of their trip. Nicole and I stayed at Lars and Else's apartment while they where gone them self on vacation to France, so we had our own little Holiday home and car (Andrea gave us her car). Than after 10 days Nicole and I went to Northern Ireland our self.
The family was re-united and we all stayed there for another 3 nights. From here we all went to former East Germany and stayed with my Cousin and his family in a little Village.
One more night together in Berlin where we stayed in a Hotel the night before Lettie and Erica went back home.
Now it was only me and Nicole again, we stayed two nights in the City of Duisburg with my Cousin and the rest of the two weeks with different friends and family, Steffen Nicole and Stefan and Michelle and Conny and Dietmar.
What happened in those 4 1/2 weeks........a lot. Let's see if can remember some off the stories or adventures we had.
Driving 200 km/h on the Autobahn myself LEGALLY !!  WOW would like to drive faster here, but that can be to expensive.
There was the day we went out for a couple drinks with Michel and Becky in this nice local Irish Pub. Or the day we visit Lettie's nice old auntie Jean, it was so nice that I met her and that she could see Nicole.
Than the East Sea where we stayed with my Cousin and his family in the Village my Grandmother was living, we had a great time with the family and did some nice trips to the beach and even had a short visit to Poland. The family came together and we had a nice BBQ. Even if they did not speak a lot of English somehow we managed to get Lettie and Erica involved into the conversations and stories. We also made some trips to the nearby area, to see some small villages or some old castles and some very old trees, the oldest ones in Europe with around 1000 years of age.
On the 17th we went to Berlin where we stayed for one night, as Erica and Lettie had to go home the early next morning. We stayed in a nice little Hotel and we found a nice Beergarden nearby where we had fun and where Erica came together with her Granduncle and his partner.
I drove with Regina and her Granddaughter back to the west in a long car ride, we had bad lucknas ghe Autobahn was closed because of an accident, so we drove 3 hours longer than normal which means we drove 8 hours.
From now on we stayed in three different places for 3-4 nights. My uncle and aunt gave us their sons room who just moved out with his girlfriend a week before we came. While there I heard that my former Employer where I worked for 21 years had a big after work Party. Talking to my former supervisor I kind of invited myself to that great event and I talked to a lot of people, a lot of them where surprised to see me.
We also stayed with my friends Steffen and Nicole and their kids, the have a lovely home with some rabbits and chickens in the backyard. A couple of my friends came for a BBQ which was a fun event especially for Nicole who had some kids to play with.
And also Stefan and Michelle gave us a room in their apartment, where we had one night another BBQ with a couple friends, and because of Lucy the 13 years old daughter of one of my best friends we made sure that my Nicole had fun too. While we where staying there a couple from Vienna, good friends of mine, came all the way up (1000 km round about) to see us. I made some nice day trips with them to see and old Cathedral from the year 1100 or to the Zoo or to a recreation area where we walked for 6-7 km. Nicole came with us of course and she enjoyed it.
The last two nights I stayed at my uncle and aunts place again. We had a family reunion at my cousins place and we had a BBQ with my uncles neighbors who made this BBQ especially for me as we hosted their grandson earlier this year when he was in Canada.
The bottom line is that everything went so smooth, no complications and we refreshed a lot of contacts.
