last Ski days in Banff (Sunshine Village)

April snow

Nicole hatte ihre Geburtstagsparty im Schwimmbad mit 17 Kinder und 14 Erwachsene. Wir hatten das Schwimmbad wie schon im letzten zwei Jahren für uns. Nicole hatte einen Riesenspaß und sie hat eine Menge Geschenke bekommen, Nicole war zwar noch nicht fünf aber das war der einzigste Tag an dem wir den Pool für uns bekommen konnte.
Die Kinder wissen es noch nicht aber in zwei Wochen werden wir ein Trampolin bekommen. Es wird rechtzeitig einen Tag vor Nicoles Geburtstag ankommen. Das Trampolin hat einen Durchmesser von vier ein halb Meter und es hat auch ein Sicherheitsnetz.

Nicole had her birthday party at the pool, we had 17 kids and 14 adults. We booked the pool for us like we did in the last two years. Nicole had a lot of fun and enjoyed to have so many friends around and getting a lot of off presents. The pool party wasn't on her birthday but that was the only day that we could book the pool.
We also bought a trampoline for the kids which we will get a day before Nicole's birthday. The trampoline is 15 foot and has a fence around.

In Letties Büro hatten die Kinder der Angestellten einen Fototermin. Die Kinder haben so getan als wären sie die Erwachsenen und Sie hatten ein Meeting. Es war wirklich lustig zu sehen wie die Kleinen sich vorstellen ein Büroalltag auszusehen hat. Letties Arbeitgeber hat sich beworben bei einem Wettbewerb als bester Arbeitgeber innerhalb Albertas einen Preis zu gewinnen. Um zu zeigen wie familienfreundlich sie sind haben Sie diese Fotos gemacht um sie bei der Antragstellung einzureichen. Anschließend gab es Pizza und Spielsachen für dei Kinder.

The employees kids at Lettie's office had a photo shooting, the kids had a meeting and pretended to be the adults. Letties Employer might get the prize for the best employer in Alberta. Her employer is very family-friendly and that's why they had the photo shooting with the kids. They had a lot of fun and afterwards the got pizza and juice and they could take some toys home.

Ich verfolge hier natürlich auch die Champions League und habe mich sehr über die Siege von Dortmund und Bayern München gefreut. Nun hoffe ich natürlich das Bayern und auch in Dortmund ins Finale kommen um ein rein deutsches Finale zu spielen. Sollte Bayern wieder ins Endspiel kommen würde ich es mir wieder mit meinem Freund anschauen der in Calgary wohnt.

I follow the European Champions League here as well, and was very pleased about the Victor's of Dortmund and Bayern. Of course I hope that Dortmund and Bayern make it to the Finale, if Bayern is in I will see it maybe again together with a friend in Calgary.

Der Winter ist zurück gekehrt nach Kanada, genauer gesagt nach Süd Alberta über Nacht haben wir wieder einmal wieder 20 cm Neuschnee bekommen. Die Kinder haben draußen im Schnee gespielt und hatten relativ viel Spaß auch wenn Nicole vorher noch gefragt hat Papa wann haben wir Frühling. Noch einen Tag vor dem Schneefall hatten wir im Garten ein Lagerfeuer gemacht und das war Wetter war relativ gut, Aber hier kann man ja fast bis Mitte Mai noch mit Schneefall rechnen.

The Winter returned to southern Alberta. For a day and a half we had intense snowfall. 20 cm of snow, the kids played outside but Nicole asked "Papa wann haben wir Fruehling". Just a day before we had a nice fire in our fire pit in the backyard, and now this.
As we know, we can expect snow till May.

Lettie ist in Edmonton fuer 4 Tage (zu einer Konferenze), so Nicole und ich sind alleine. Wir versuchen das beste daraus zu machen, so gehen wir z.b. schwimmen oder wir gehen aus zum essen. Wir vermissen unsere Mama natuerlich sehr.

Lettie was in Edmonton for a couple days, on a conference. So it was only Nicole and me. We tried to do the best, going swimming our out for dinner, but we missed Mommy a lot. 

Geburtstags Wochenende, was fuer ein veruecktes Wochenende. Wir haben fuer die Kinder ja ein Trampoline gekauft, welches wir im trockenen aufgebaut haben aber dann fing es recht heftig zu schneien an, aber wir haben es fertig bekommen. Die Kinder konnten es aber zuerst gar nicht nutzen da es mit Schnee und Eis eingedeckt war. Aber dann Sonntag gab es kein halten mehr. Nicole hat ihren Scooter zum Geburtstag bekommen, konnte aber wegen dem Schneefall nicht draussen fahren, sie ist aber dann in der Wohnung ein wenig gefahren.
Und wir hatten an ihrem Geburtstag erst Savannah und Hailey (ihre Freunde) ueber nacht und dann am nächsten Tag Cloey und Logan zum spielen bei uns.
Nach diesem Wochenende brauche ich erst einmal Urlaub :-))

Birthday weekend, it was a crazy weekend. We bought a trampoline for the kids (and us) but we built it up during snowfall, which came unexpected - it was a pain in the butt.The kids had to wait until the snow was gone, but than Sunday the kids jumped for the first time and they real enjoy it.
We also got a scooter for Nicole for her birthday, she really wanted one. And than we had her Friends Savannah and Hailey over night and the next day we had Cloey and Logan over for a play date. After that weekend I need a day off.

Letztes Ski Wochenende in Banff/Sunshine. Am Freitag dem 26.4 bin ich direkt nach der Arbeit nach Banff gefahren (natuerlich mit einem stop im Edelweiss Laden in Calgary). Dort war ich dann 2 Naechte in der Jugendherberge und bin Samstag und auch Sonntag Ski gefahren. Samstags war es sehr windig und am schneien, weiter oben auf dem Berg war die sicht gleich null, der Schnee hart wie Stein und der Wind unglaublich heftig, aber so wie man in die Wald region kam war es echt gut und es hat richtig Spass gemacht. Den Sonntag kam dan sogar die Sonne raus. In Banff selber war es am Sonntag T-shirt Wetter, waehrend es trotz Sonne doch recht kuehl war auf dem Berg. Zum relaxen und um meine mueden Knochen etwas zu goennen war ich dann 2 x in den heissen Quellen in Banff.

Last days of skiing on April 27/28 in sunshine (Banff), I went up on Friday after work and came back Sunday late afternoon. On the way up I stopped of course at the Edelweiss store in Calgary. I stayed two nights at the YHA in Banff and went skiing both days. Saturday the wind was blowing and the view was zero on top of the mountains but coming closer to the treed it was actually not to bad and than Sunday the sun came out and it was actually a nice last skiing day of the season. In Banff that Sunday it was sunny and T-shirt weather and I stopped twice that weekend at the Banff hot springs to relax my old bones in nice hot water.

Erica ist kraeftig am ueben fuer ihr Schul theater wo sie die Mrs. Potts spielt in the beauty and the beast. Am 1. Mai werden wir sie dann sehen in ihrer Schule wo die Auffuerungen stattfinden werden.

Erica is playing the Mrs. Potts in the Beaty and the beast at her school play, we will see her on stage on May 1 st.
