Kids are back to school and Lettie back to work, the summer comes to an end and it was a great summer.

Kinder wieder in der Schule und auch Lettie ist wieder in der Arbeit. Ein gutter Sommer kommt zu einen Ende.

Best hike ever to Lineham Peak in Waterton, which is the second highest in Waterton with round about 2770 meters. I hiked with Peter Steve and John and it took us 5 hours up and 3 down, and what a great view we had amazing breathtaking. The short cut down was a bit adventures thou! Man did that fits beer ever tasted great.

Die beste Wanderung die ich bisher gemacht habe. Ich bin mit ein paar Freunden hoch zum Lineham Peak dem zweithöchsten Berg in Waterton 2770 gewandert. Wir brauchten ca 5 Stunden Berg auf und 3 Stunden Berg ab, wobei wir eine sehr abenteuerliche Abkürzung auf dem Rückweg genommen haben.

Das erste Bier hat unglaublich gut geschmeckt.

Nicole is going now to french school at Agnes Davidson, she likes it and her teacher Mll Schulchen is just great. She had to do a project and seems a bit nervous about the presentation of it.

Nicole geht in die 1. Klasse der Französichen Schule in Lethbridge, dort wo sie auch schon 3 Monate vor dem Sommer im Kindergarten war. Sie lernt dort bis zur 3. Klasse nur Fränzösich und dann ab der 3. Klasse auch Englisch. So wird sie dann 3 Sprachen lernen.

Oktoberfest at the German club it's our eights time that we go, Sauerkraut and humpapa music, german beer and friend with us at our table, we had a good time.

Wie jedes Jahr waren wir im Oktoberfest im Deutschen Klub, wir hatten einen Tisch für neun Personen, alles Freunde und wir hatten wie immer eine gute Zeit.

Erica had the chance to go to Ottawa for a week and be with kids her age from all over Canada. This was part Goverment paid and she visited Parlament hill and Montreal in that time. We picked her up at Lethbridge Airport with a big welcome home banner, even Grandma came to pick her up.

Erica war für eine Woche in Ottawa mit Kinder von ganz Kanada. Sie haben das Parlament besucht und waren für einen Tag in Montreal. Als sie wieder in Lethbridge gelandet ist haben wir sie mit einem großen "welcome home Erica" Banner abgeholt, selbst Lettie's Mutter kam zum Flughafen.

Mid September after a day of snow ( more on that later) I took Nicole to Waterton for a day, we had a great stay and had fun doing the Waterton things like going to Cameron lake or The PoW Hotel or going for lunch to Zum's.
 

After weeks with temperatures around 30s all of the sudden snow and minus 1 by mid September, Calgary and the CNP where hit hard - Lethbridge just got a bit. And than a week later again around 28-30 degree, that only happens in souther Alberta.

 

Mit September war ich mit Nicole in Waterton, nur wenige Tage nachdem wir heftigen Schnefall hatten. Für Wochen hatten wir um die 30 Grad, und dann auf einmal Schnee und minus 1. Calgary und andere Gebiete um Lethbridge hatten recht viel Schnee, soviel das die Bäume die noch die Blätter hatten die Last nicht tragen konnten, viele Äste sind dort abgebrochen.

In Waterton war noch Tage später ein wenig Schnee, aber die Temperaturen waren wieder um die 30 Grad.

Last month of summer, we had a great time. The weather was mostly awesome just a couple days of rain.

Wir hatten einen tollen letzten Sommer Monat, das Wetter war meistens gut, abgesehen von ein paar Regen tagen.

It was the first time that we have been a the Taber cornfest. It's at the same time as the fair in

Lethbridge ( whoop up days) but it was much nicer, hat more a local touch than the overpriced whoop up fair.

Wir waren zum ersten mal beim Taber Maiskorn Fest ( Taber Mais ist der beste und weit über die Grenzen von Alberta bekannt) es ist zur gleichen Zeit wie die Kirmes in Lethbridge, hat unsauber weitaus besser gefallen da es einer Lokalen Touch hatte und nicht so teuer war wie die Kirmes in Lethbridge.

I went on a hike to upper Rowe Lake which I have planed to do for a long time, but after being here for seven years I got it done. The only downside was that we have been in the clouds on top it even started to snow slightly, so we could not enjoy the amazing view. Richard (Sylvia's son) and his wife Sarah came too.

Habe endlich eine Wanderung gemacht die ich schon seit dem ich hier bin (7 Jahre) geplant hatte. Es war nur schade das wir auf dem Gipfel in den Wolken waren, es hat hier sogar leicht geschneit, so konnten wir die grandiose Aussicht nicht genießen. Der Sohn meiner Kollegin und seine Frau haben uns bei der Wanderung begleitet.

A day trip to Waterton with Nicole and Lettie, we spend time at red rock canyon and have been down by the Creek where  it was cool on that hot day. We also went to Cameron lake and stayed by the beach. It's so nice to be so close to Waterton.

Schultuete , a German tradition -  kids get a cone filled with candy for there first day of school. So Nicole got one too, but we gave it to her the weekend before school so that she would be not the only one at school with it, other kids might wonder and look at her as it is no tradition here at all.

Nicole hat ihre Schultüte schon am Wochenende bevor dem ersten Schultag bekommen, da wir vermeiden möchten das die anderen Kinder in der Schule sie blöd anstarren wenn sie dort mit der Tüte steht.

German jersey with four Stars - after Germany won the football world championship the German team got their fourth star on the jersey. Which means I needed a new jersey with the 4 stars of course, so I  got some BUT instead of paying the $120 plus delivery I bought a knock off from China for $22 and you know what you can't see the difference at all! It even has the German tags on it from Adidas.

Nachdem Deutschland seinen vierten Stern bekommen hat musste ich natürlich auch ein Neues Jersey bestellen, da mir aber die 95 Euro plus Versand zu teuer waren haben ich eines in China für ca. 15 Euro inklusive Versand bestellt und du siehst nicht einen Unterschied zum Original !!!

What is left from the summer, well we had a great time in our backyard and also being active in the mountains. We had family over from Germany and we did the best to show them all the highlights.

Nicole is coming to grade one and Erica to grade 10. Lettie had 7 weeks off and we have to remember the summer of 2014 as one off the best we had as a family.

Was bleibt vom Sommer,wir haben unseren Gärten genossen und wir waren aktiv unterwegs in den Bergen. Wir hatten Familie aus Deutschland hier und haben versucht ihnen das beste zu zeigen was Kanada und Alberta zu bieten haben. Nicole kommt nun in die erste Klasse und Erica in die zehnte Klasse. Lettie hatte 7 Wochen frei und wir werden diesen Sommer als einen der besten in Erinnerung behalten.
