Summer holidays, not for me but for my family - all three are off and even Lettie has seven weeks paid off. We enjoy our backyard, Lettie stained the deck new and it looks amazing. We have great temperatures and that's what we wait for all winter long.

Lettie and Nicole went to Church Camp for a week to Waterton, and they had a great time with nice weather in this wonderful park.

 

One big thing of the summer was the World Cup in Brazil, what for great german games. The 7:1 to against Brazil in Brazil what a game, I was in the office and had a call and went back to check the game and 5 goals freaking  5 goals in 10 minutes, than the final game and we watched it live downtown Letbridge and man was that a thriller and a great game the best final game in a long time and than Goetze's goooooooooal who made all Germans world champion. Man I couldn't see that goal often enough, as well as the Brazil game goals.

We lost a few friends, as they moved away. Bee and Mattijias to Denmark, Koko Rainer to northern BC, we wish them all the best for the new home and hope their dreams come thru.

Erica is home sitting our neighbours house for 2 weeks, she says she is going to her house when she goes over to sleep there. We uses their pool and one weekend I went over and we had fresh pancake breakfast.

We have been on a wedding, my coworkers son Richard and his fiancé Sarah got married and we had fun at the wedding party.

Erica also volunteered  at the UofL for a week with kids, and Nicole went there a week for dancing class. Lettie also went with the kids a few time it the nice outside pools in Sterling and Raymond, and even if I work I have a great summer with my family.

Sommerferien and meine Familie hat Urlaub, Lettie hat auch 7 Wochen bezahlten Urlaub, nur ich darf arbeiten. Wir genießen unseren Garten und Lettie hat das Deck neu gestrichen, es sieht klasse aus. So nun haben wir endlich die Sommer Temperaturen worauf wir den ganzen langen Winter drauf warten.

Lettie und Nicole waren eine Woche im Kirchen Ferienlager in Waterton, bei schoenem Wetter in diesem einmaligen |Stueck Natur.
 

Weltmeister, wir sind Weltmeister und was waren das für tolle Spiele. Deutschland Brasilien 7:1 in Brasilien WOW! Und dann das Endspiel gegen Argentinien welches wir in Lehtbridge mit vielen anderen gesehen haben, zum Glück erlöste uns Götze mit seinem Traumtor. Habe mir das Tor viele male angeschaut, das Sommermärchen von 2006 kam zu einem Happy end.

Einige unserer Freunde sind weiter oder fortgezogen, Kokons Rainer in den Norden British Columbias ca 9-10 Autostunden von Lethbridge. Bee und Mattijias sind zurück nach Europa und werden nun in Kopenhagen leben.

Erica ist für 2 Wochen am Haus Sitten, sie wohnt in dem Haus unserer Nschbarn und passt auf den Hund und das Haus auf. Wir können den Pool benutzen und an einem Samstag morgen bin ich mit frischen Pfannekuchen rüber und die Kinder und ich hatten auf der Veranda Frühstück.

Der Sohn meiner Kollegin hat geheiratet und wir vier waren auf der Hochzeitsfeier und hatten eine menge Spaß.

Erica hat auch eine Woche an der Uni mit Kindern im Sommercamp gearbeitet und meine drei waren oft in einem der Fereibäder in der Umgebung von Lethbridge.mund selbst wenn ich arbeiten muss, so habe ich doch einen super Sommer mit meiner Familie.

Family Camp Waterton

Rain rain lots of rain this month and we have flooding again, not as bad as last year but it was close. And that stopped just a day before my relatives Connye and Dietmar from Germany came over to us.

Wir hatten mal wieder viel Regen und Überflutungen, zwar nicht sons hlimm wie letztes Jahr abe fast.

Und der Regen hörte nur einen Tag bevor mein Onkel und meine Tante aus Deutschland zu Besuch kamen.

I picked them up with Nicole at Calgary and we went directly to Banff were we stayed for three nights. We visited Lake Louise and we went on the Lake Louise Gondola where we had an amazing view at Lake Louise. We also stopped at Moraine Lake and also checked out some sites in Banff, like the Banff Springs or the Hot spring. Lettie joined us too, she just cam a day later.

We took the nice A22 via Black Diamond back to Landbreak falls and stopped at the falls. After a short stay in visit we went on to Mtn.view were we stayed at a cottage close to Waterton Park.

Here we saw the Prince of Wales, where we got to take the oldest elevator in NW America, we checked out a room and saw three Bears in the Park. 

Dietmar Nicole and I went on a trip to Many Glaciers in Montana, we stopped at the Lake checked out that old Hotel and we spotted a Grizzly who was close to the parking lot.

Because it's the FIFA World Cup we could watch a game at the cottage ( Germany USA). Back in Lethbridge we had a party to celebrate my uncles 60 th birthday with some friends, we made sure that we had enough German speaking folks around.

The last night  the four of us adults went to the Casino where a Live band played, we danced ate and had a couple drinks and all of us had a great time. I have to say that was a great Idea I had to go there.

Oh one little thing, I tried to jump over a fence in Waterton when we went out for Pizza, which ended in a fall on my uncle which I damaged but god thanks not broke. have to realize that I'm not 20 anymore.

Nicole und ich holten die beiden in Calgary am Flughan ab und fuhren dann direkt nach Banff wo wir drei Tage blieben. Lettie kam auch einenTag später. Wir haben uns Lake Louise angeschaut und sind mit der Ski Gondel hoch auf den Berg gefahren um die grandiose Aussicht zu genießen. Auch am wunderschönen Moraine Lake waren wir.

In Banff haben wir und das Banff Springs angeschaut und waren an den heißen Quellen. Über eine sehr schöne Panorama Straße ging es dann über den Crowsnest pass und die Lundbreak Wasserfälle zurück nach Lethbridge. Dort blieben wir nur kurz und es ging weiter nach für zwei Nächte nach Waterton wie wir in Mountain view ein Ferienhaus hatten.

In Waterton haben wir drei Bären gesehen, was natürlich für unseren Besuch sehr aufregend war. Wir waren auf den Bears hump, konnten uns im Prince auf Wales Hotel ein Zimmer ansehen und den ältesten Aufzug in Nordwest Amerika benutzen. Für einen Tag waren wir dann noch in Many Glaciers in Montana wo wir sogar einen Grizzlybär gesehen haben. 

In Lethbridge haben wir dann mit Freunden den 60 zigsten Geburtstag meines Onkel gefeiert, wir hatten genügend Freunde die Deutsch sprechen konnten für die beiden.

Den krönenden Abschluss hatten wir dann als wir vier Erwachsenen am letzten Abend ins Casino gingen, dort gab es neben essen und Bier gute Live Musik und genügend Unterhaltung durch die verschiedenen Menschen die sich dort aufhalten, Cowboys sieht man halt nicht so oft in Deutschland.

Der winzigste negativ Punkt war als ich in Waterton versucht habe über einen Zaun zu springen und mir den linken Fuß verletzt habe, bin halt keine 20 mehr.

Erica and Nicole finished school, both of them did well and I was happy to hear that Nicole did just great at French school, she god a great report even if only there for three month and she will follow her sister great successful way and be a good student as well.

Erica und Nicole haben ihr Schuljahr gut abgeschlossen und Nicole die ihr erstes Zeugniss bekommen hat scheint ihrer Schwester zu Folgen, was die super Noten angeht.

FIFA World Cup again and Germany is under the last eight, hope the will come further in the month of July as the tournament continues till mid July.

By the way Nicole ended her soccer season in June and I hope she will continue in September when the indoor season starts.

Fußball WM und die Deutschen sind mal wieder unter den letzten 8, hoffe das sie im Juli noch weiter kommen.

Nicole's Fußball Saison war schon wieder vorbei, wobei ich hoffe das sie im September weiter machen will wenn die hallen Saison anfängt.

What else happened this month,manifold and I went to family church Camp and we stayed two nights in Waterton, we saw a couple young Bears in trees and we had a great time in that awesome Park.

Nicole drove her bike and we went a couple times to get some icecream. Lettie finished her Job before the summer break and is now off for 7 weeks, yes 7!!

Was ist sonst noch passiert diesen Monat. Nicole und ich waren im Familiencamp in Waterton und haben die grandiose Natur bewundert, u.a. mehrere junge Bären in Bäumen. 

Nicole kann jetzt Fahrrad fahren und so waren wir ein Paar mal auf eine Tour um Eis essen zu gehen. 

Lettie hat nun 7 Wochen Urlaub, ja 7!!!
