Skiing with Nicole again after a winter storm day and amazing 40cm of new snow. It was snowing like crazy the day before we went so I could see the scale on the webcam disappear behind snow bit by bit. The day we drove out it was just very icy and it took us an hour longer as normal. But once we where there it was a great day, and it was the first time that Nicole skied totally by herself and did  just great.

Nach einem Schneereichen Tag (bis zu 40cm) war ich mit Nicole in den Bergen zum Ski fahren. Die fahrt nach Castle. Mountain war recht abenteuerlich, aber als wir ankamen war es ein schoener sonniger Tag mit gutem Neuschnee und es war das erste mal das Nicole voellieg alleine fuhr, keine Leine und keine helfende Hand, sie war wirklich klasse.

Lettie started a new job at the Winston Churchill high as a career counsilor and she likes the time with the kids. She has shorter days and likes that she has the school holidays off.

Lettie hat einen neuen Job in dem sie seit ende Dezember arbeitet. Sie arbeitet als Berufberater an der Winston Churchill Hochschule, was bedeuted sie hat wann immer Schulferien sind die Zeit frei (bezahlt).

Erica studies for her exams at school and has a very busy life in the moment doing a lot of homework.

Erica ist im moment richtig beschaeftigt mit ihren Schulpruefungen und hat fast immer irgendwelche Hausaufgaben zu tun.

Sunlife party with Lettie, the fith time that we attend, enjoying the good food and the music later. We sat with Sylvia as usual who came this year with her partner Michael.

Betriebsfeier Nummer 5 mit Sun Life, wir geniessen wie immer das gute Essen und die Musik spaeter. Wir sassen wie immer mit meiner Kollegin Sylvia, die dieses Jahr mit ihrem Partner Michael kam.

Skiing with Bee, on a nice sunny day with great ski condition we went to Castle and  I show her around and make sure she will have an unforgettable day skiing. The slopes were perfectly groomed, just on the top of the hill the wind blow like crazy. The day ends with some Pizza and beer.

Ski fahren mit Bee, wir hatten einen schoenen sonnigen Tag mit gut preperierten Pisten. Ich habe Bee das Skigebiet gezeigt und wir haben einige Abfahrten geschafft. Nur auf dem Gipfel hat uns der Wind stark ins Gesicht geblasen. Den Tag haben wir perfekt abgerundet bei Pizza und Bier.

Party with the neighbours on Jan 31. which I declared as a goodbye party for ericas and my upcoming trip to Europe.

Feier mit den Nachbarn am 31.1, oder wie ich es getauft habe "Aufwiedersehen Feier" fuer die anstehende Europa Reise von Erica und mir.

The month after Dad passed away, its not easy to get used to this fact that he is gone. Mom gets used step by step to Myla her full time home care Lady.

Es ist im Monat nach meines Schwiegervaters tot immer noch nicht einfach zu akzeptieren das er nicht mehr da ist. Mutter gewöhnt sich langsam an ihre Pflegerin die Vollzeit bei ihr wohnt.

Colder than on the Northpole on day we has minus 39 and minus 50, yes 50 with the windchill. That cold in the minus 30s stayed for a couple days and was followed by the typical chinook wind and temperatures above.

Es war ein paar Tage kälter in Lethbridge als am Nordpol, minus 39 und mit dem Wind gefühlte minus 50 ja minus 50 Grad. Danach hatten wir Fön und wieder Temperaturen um die 0 Grad, die Temperatur Schwankungen hier sind krass.

New door , after 5 years we finally got the new door and it looks great. It opens to the front which gives us more space when we go in and especially if we all 4 go in.

Nach 5 Jahren haben wir endlich unsere Eingangstüre gewechselt und haben nun eine Türe die nach außen öffnet anstelle nach innen, dadurch haben wir mehr Platz wenn wir ins Haus gehen.

Erica had her Nutcracker Balett performance on the same weekend that Nicole had her Montesorri Xmas singing performance at the senior Center.

Surprise Party for Lettie and a neighbours and also friends house, she had round about 20 people shouting "surprise" when I came over with Lettie. We had a good time and even if Lettie was sick she still enjoyed every moment. The kids stayed over for a sleep over and so we had the house for us.

Wir hatten eine Überrschungsparty für Lettie und ca. 20 Leute kamen ins Haus unserer Nachbarn wo die Party statt fand. Lettie war zwar krank hatte aber trotzdem eine gute Zeit und die Kinder sind über Nacht  bei unseren Freunden geblieben.

First day of skiing this season, Bee and Mattijas as well as Aiden came too while the little one stayed with Lettie . Nicole skied with me in the morning and had her first 1x1 ski lessons in the afternoon. She did well and had a great time. I hope we can continue with that and get her to be more independent by the end of the season. The day was just perfect and I got a couple runs in myself.

Erster Skitag der Saison, unsere Holländischen Freunde kamen auch mit ihren Kindern. Nicole kam in die Skischule am Nachmittag und hatte eine Einzel Unterricht für 2 Stunden. So konnte ich ein paar Fahrten alleine machen. Eigentlich war noch ein Junge in ihrer Klasse, der hatte aber kalte Füße und war dann schnell wieder drinnen. Morgens bin ich noch mit ihr gehfahren und wir haben noch einmal die Leine angelegt, das Ziel ist aber davon wegzukommen. 

Xmas we had our Dutch friends and their kids over night. We had a great dinner and enjoyed their company over night and could have a nice breakfast together the next morning. The kids liked to play together so much that Aiden had a big melt down when he had to leave. The kids liked their presents and their stockings. We gave the presents to the kids already the Sunday before Xmas as we like to do this just as a family. And the opened the stockings on the 25th as usual.

Weihnachten hatten wir unser Hollaendischen Freunde zum Abendessen und ueber Nacht. Die Kinder spielten schoen zusammen und wir erwachsenen hatten eine menge essen gekocht,. Am Weihnachtsmorgen haben die Kinder die Geschenke vom Nikolaus geoeffnet und wir hatten Brunch zusammen.
