We had our German friends Koko and Rainer over for dinner one Saturday. We enjoyed a nice BBQ dinner and a fire later downstairs at our fireplace. Koko made a lemon cake and Rainer and I had some good German "Weizenbier".

Nicole and Erica like to dance, and it's funny to see how the little one is copying the big one in her dance moves. So we make from time to time a dance party, where we have music videos from you tube.

I had friend over from Germany for skiing, Lars (my old friend) and his nephew Sven came over for 3 weeks. They stayed the first 2 weeks in Banff and B.C. before they cam to our area. I booked a cottage (we has guest in our) son that we stayed together for 4 days in the Crowsnest pass. Lettie and Nicole cam for the weekend so that I could take Nicole for skiing in Blairmore. My friend Jason came with us skiing, and we all where happy to have him as our local guide, he knows some very good runs, especially at Castle Mountain. We went skiing two days in Fernie and 2 days in castle Mountain. Our guests stayed the last night before the went back to Germany with us in Lethbridge. So I could give them the tour thru Lethbridge and showed them where I and where Lettie works.
It is nice to have friends over and show them where/how we life, so I look forward to August when my next friends come to hike, Mike from Freiburg and Gerhard and Didi from Vienna.

Temperatures above 10 and sun and Nicole and I can enjoy a short trip on her tricycle. The snow in our street is nearly gone.
Erica stays (even if with us that week) on one Saturday with her Dad, because the visited a concert and came home late.
Lettie and I celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary on Valentines day, I send her flowers in her office and make all her female co-workers jealous, guess there are some husbands are getiing the question tonight about why they have not send any flower :-)

The weekend after we had night without the kids, where Lettie and I went out for nice dinner and an overnight stay in a nice Hotel. The dinner was at the firestone Restaurant a very nice Restaurant with good food.

Mom felt in her bathroom and broke her wrist on the left hand, she and Lettie waited many hours in the hospital before they could leave. Now she has to wear and cast for 6 weeks.

The weather in Lethbridge is from minus 35, with windchill minus 44 up to plus 9. It's amazing who much the temperature can be diferent in just a couple days.

Wir haten unsere Freunde Koko und Rainer aus Wuppertal zum Abendessen bei uns (die beiden leben schon einige Jahre in Kanada). Koko brachte einen Zitronenkuchen und Rainer und ich genossen ein schoenes Weizenbier (spaeter).

Mein Freund Lars und sein Neffe Sven waren hier fuer 3 Wochen zum Ski fahren. Die beiden waren erts bei Banff und dann in British Columbia Ski fahren bevor sie in der letzten Woche in unsere Gegend kamen. Dort bin ich dann mit den beiden 4 Tage Ski gefahren. Mein Freund Jason fuhr mit uns und er konnte uns ein paar wirklich schoene Ecken zeigen. Lars und Sven hatten eine gute Zeit und ich war froh das ich den beiden mal zeigen konnte wie grossartig unsere Gegend hier ist. Ich konnte den beiden auch einmal zeigen wo wir arbeiten und hatten auch etwas Zeit fuer eine Rundtour durch Lethbridge, bevor die beiden zum Flughafen nach Calgary mussten.
Im August kommt die naechste Gruppe zum wandern, meine Freunde die Baleks aus Wien und mein alter Kumpel Mike aus Freiburg.

Lettie und ich hatten unseren 4. Hochzeitstag, am 14.02 und waren am darauffolgenden Wochenende in einem Hotel fuer eine Nacht waehrend Nicole bei Freunden war. Lettie und ich hatten ein klasse dinner im naheliegenden Firestone Restaurant und genossen diesen speziellen Tag.
Leider fiel meine Schwiegermutter am naechsten morgen im Badezimmer und brach sich ihr Handgelenk. Lettie war mit ihr in der Notaufnahme von 12 Uhr bis 23 Uhr, die Wartezeiten sind einfach unglaublich. Nun hat sie einen Gips fuer 6 Wochen, ist aber zum Glueck wieder Zuhause.

Christmas and new year - Lettie's sister and family where in Lethbridge (only Mike couldn't make it). So we had Dinner after church on the 24th. and my in-laws and again on the 25th. for the Turkey Christmas Dinner. Catherine stayed with us 2 nights and had a fun time to unpack presents with us on the 25th morning. We also all meet at the Coast Hotel for brunch, Nicole loved it because she got her own DVD player with movie and LOVED it. Nicole liked that so many people where at Mom and Dad's house. After everyone left we went to Mom and Dad for a healthy KFC new years eve dinner, Nicole went to the living room and said "wait for people" - she just liked it that her family was around so that she could not believe everyone was gone.

We all went skiing on January 1st.. It was a cold and windy day. I skied with Nicole while Lettie tried to get Erica down the hill. Lettie and I had also some time for us, while Nicole was in daycare and Erica in Ski lesson.

Stiff back - it hit me all of the sudden, I bend over to pick up Nicole when a terrible pain hit me in the back. I had a muscle spasm which kept me in pain for quite a while (over a week).

We have renters now for our little house, if everything is going fine for the next year. That really takes some pressure from our shoulders.

I had a long weekend and took the chance to drive on one day to IKEA Calgary to get some furniture for Nicole's room and I stopped by my favorite store the Edelweiss ( a German mini-market).

My friend from Germany Lars and his nephew Sven arrived in Canada on the 19th. They stay 3 weeks in Canada, but they are going first to Banff and Golden B.C. before I see them on 4.2.11 in the Crowsnestpass area.

Nicole is doing Gymnastics now, she likes it and I love to go there with her. She is very very good at the monkey bars.

Letties Schwestern und Familien waren zu Weihnachten in Lethbridge bei meinem Schwiegereltern, einzig mein Schwager Mike konnte nicht kommen. Nicole hatte sichtlich viel Spass mit so vielen Leuten und ihren Cousins and Cousinnen. Helig Abend waren wir zur Kinder Messe in der Kirche und danach bei meinen Schwiegereltern zum Abendessen. Am 1. Weihnachtstag gab es dann auch den typischen Truthahn bei Mom and Dad mit der ganzen Familie. Zum Brunch am 2. Tag sind wir alle in ein Restaurant gegangen, wo wir einen Raum fuer uns hatten, Nicole liebte es da sie einen eigenen DVD Player dort mit Kinde Movies bekommen hat.

Am ersten Januar sind wir 4 dann Ski fahren gewesen, waehrend Nicole und ich nur die Pisten so runter fegten, hatte Lettie schwierigkeiten Erica ueberhaubt die Piste runter zu bekommen. Mittags war Nicole dann im Kindergarten und Erica hatte eine Ski Stunde mit Lehrer waehrend wir beiden mal ohne Kinder fahren konnten.

Ein sehr schmerzlicher Muskelkrampf hatte mich fuer ein paar Tage sehr eingeschraenkt in meiner Bewegung. Ich wollte mich nur nach Nicole buecken als ich vor Schmerz einfach auf den Boden neben ihr fiel, sie sagte nur "Papa Aua?".

Ich hatte ein langes Wochenende, dank eines US Feiertages. An meinem langen Wochenende bin ich nach Calgary gefahren um bei IKEA ein paar Regale fuer Nicoles Zimmer zu holen. Ausserdem war ich in meinem Lieblingsladen, dem Edelweiss store (einem Deutschen Mini-markt), wo ich mal wieder gutes Deutsches essen geniessen konnte.

Wir haben nun wenn alles gut geht Mieter fuer unser kleines Haus fuer das naechste Jahr, dass waere echt eine Erleichterung fuer uns wenn wir nu regelmaessig Miete bekommen.

Lars und sein Neffe Sven sind zum Ski fahren am 19. Januar angekommen, die beiden bleiben 3 Wochen. Sind aber zuerst in Banff und Golden B.C. bevor ich sie am 4.2.11 dann in den Bergen bei uns treffen werde.

Nicole geht nun zum Turnen jeden Samstag, ich liebe es mit ihr dorthin zu gehen. Die kleine ist so gut an den Turnstangen.
